Attention Property Owners and Managers!

The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) invites you to attend a Rental Fair geared toward families impacted by Superstorm Sandy who have been approved for Special Admissions Section 8 Vouchers and who are in need of assistance locating rental housing.

DCA has invited other state agencies along with property owners, landlords and realtors to join together to assist displaced New Jersey citizens in locating acceptable housing. This event will allow you the opportunity to meet with prospective tenants in need and to match them to your available properties.

Additionally, we encourage you to list your properties on the Housing Resources Center located at http://www.njhrc.gov (click on "Add Housing"). The process of listing an available unit takes about 10 minutes is completely free and can be done online or by calling the bilingual toll-free number 1-877-428-8844.

Event Details
  • When: April 6, 2013
  • Where: Toms River Intermediate East School
1519 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, NJ
  • Time: 10:00a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

To make this event a success it is important that you bring as much information as possible regarding your rental units including photos of the properties, if available. The clients that you will be meeting with are Section 8 Voucher recipients who have been displaced from their primary residence by Superstorm Sandy and who have been deemed eligible to receive a section 8 voucher pursuant to a DCA client review. The eligible tenants will contribute 40% of their monthly income to their rent with the remainder of the monthly rent being paid directly to the landlord by DCA.

Special Admissions Section 8 Vouchers provide landlords with:

  • A guaranteed rental stream;
  • Pre-screened tenants;
  • More prospective tenants;
  • and the satisfaction that you are helping your local community and the State of New Jersey recover from the worst natural disaster in its history.

Toms River Intermediate East School is easily accessible by public transportation. We are asking that you make every attempt to attend this event and be proactive in helping the people that have been displaced by this disaster.

Thank you for your assistance. For more information, download the event flyer.
